In 2008, a perfect storm was brewing for Hurley Medical Center.  We needed two new facilities – a trauma center and children’s hospital – and had an initiative going on the county ballot for a millage to support Hurley Medical Center.  We selected Hammond & Associates, Chuck and Virginia, from 5 finalists to conduct our feasibility study. They quickly stepped in, developed the final timetable, performed the feasibility study and presented the report.  The study was based on individual interviews and focus groups. Important information came to light which profoundly impacted our strategy and plans to raise money for the trauma center and children’s hospital.  Our new trauma center opened in the spring of 2012 and planning for the children’s hospital is underway.  The  expertise, style, and insight of Chuck and Virginia were very significant and important in our final plans.
